Most people won’t have an unlimited budget so they generally have an idea of how much they have available to spend on their project but won’t necessarily have spent time upfront understanding where the budget will be spent. This can often lead to making compromises further down the line when choosing some of the more important things!

Tracking and managing your spend doesn’t have to be difficult or time consuming and can be done simply using an excel spreadsheet. To help you with this, we have designed a simple, easy to use budget tracker that you can use to manage any building project. All you have to do is:

– Create your categories (or use ours)
– Allocate your budget to each of these categories
– Update the expenses tab as you progress

The remaining budget column seen here turns red if you have overspent on any particular category to help you to reallocate budgets from underspent categories.
